Our company can contribute to the battle against climate change by reducing our own carbon footprint, analysing our indirect environmental impact, proactively developing products and services that address climate change and developing business-driven policies in this area.
Huge as this challenge is, we also see it as a clear commercial opportunity. Which is partly why we’ve identified climate change as one of our three main CSR themes for the years ahead. Fortis now offers a wide range of carbon banking services and renewable energy financing. And we’ve committed ourselves to a comprehensive Carbon Neutrality Programme which resulted in full carbon neutrality for all our operations as of 2007.
