The CSR department reports directly to the Group Executive Committee. The department is tasked with developing and coordinating sustainability policies in line with Fortis’s overall strategy. It identifies business opportunities and issues, stimulates internal dialogue, sets the agenda and allocates responsibilities. The CSR department’s remit also includes challenging the organisation to raise its ambitions and improve its performance, and representing Fortis in external stakeholder dialogues and forums.
CSR managers have been appointed at Retail Banking, Merchant Banking and Insurance, where their task is to speed up the incorporation of CSR in all activities. To do this, they have drawn up individual CSR business plans within the overall corporate strategy.
Responsible growth also means strictly adhering to the various rules and regulations that govern our operations. Fortis’s Compliance service is there to ensure that our company and all our employees fully observe all relevant laws, rules and standards, thereby protecting our reputation as a reliable partner. Compliance is represented at every level of our business.
The Fortis Principles of Business Conduct occupy a central position in the body of principles, policies, rules and regulations that guide behaviour and decision-making processes at Fortis. For more information on corporate governance at Fortis, please click here.
